Gemini Condo ClubGemini Club Condo History
August 17, 2011
The Gemini Club was built in 1975, according to the Property Appraiser's web-site.
Christine Schwericke Sams, daughter of North Palm Beach councilman Jack Schwencke,
recounted the following concerning the Gemini building. (Note- Christine said 1974.
Since the records say '75, 1 am guessing, she made an error.)
"I remember my Dad in 1974 being so concerned about real estate sales for Gemini that
he moved his office over to Gemini to see if he could sell the units. That was the year of
the Arab oil embargo when gasoline was difficult to obtain and no one wanted to buy
condos in Florida. I believe his original partners Dick and Bob Ross and possibly Jay
White, were all partners on this building but I am not sure about it. I know MacArthur
ended up with the condos on Singer hdaind, but I believe Gemini ended up in the banks
possession.
"Yes the building was named after the Gemini sign and it was my sister and Tnine hirth
month. t know Dad hired professional interior designers for the condo models and I am
sure they decorated the lobby at this time. Istill have some of the furniture from one of
the models. My Dad was going to "give" me one of the condos at Gemini so I am sure he
was one of the partners on this project. Jay White was brother in law to the Ross
(brothers) so he was included in most of their projects as a partner."
