A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE VILLAGE CLERK TO
PUBLISH NOTICE OF THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
MARCH 15, 2016; NAMING THE TIME AND PLACE WHERE SUCH
ELECTION SHALL BE HELD; DECLARING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED
AT SUCH ELECTION; REQUESTING THAT THE PALM BEACH COUNTY
SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS CONDUCT THE ELECTION AND
DELEGATING CERTAIN DUTIES TO THE SUPERVISOR; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the adoption of Ordinance 2015 -09, the Village Council established
Tuesday, March 15, 2016 as the date of the Village's General Municipal Election for 2016; and
WHEREAS, there are three offices to be filled at the General Election to be held in the Village
on March 15, 2016.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. That a General Election shall be held, and is hereby declared to be held, in the
Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and
7:00 p.m. on the 15th day of March, 2016, for the purpose of electing members to the Village Council
to fill such offices in Groups 1, 3, and 5 for a period of two years each.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause a notice of said election
to be published in the Palm Beach Post at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice
shall be substantially in the following form:

TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS
RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA:
By order of the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, notice is hereby
given that a General Election will be held in said Village on the 15th day of March, 2016, for the
purpose of electing councilmembers for the following offices, to wit:
Village Councilmember, Group 1
(2 -year term)
Village Councilmember, Group 3
(2 -year term)
Village Councilmember, Group 5
(2 -year term)
Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, and the polling places are
designated as North Palm Beach Community Center, Precincts 1314, 1316, 1320, and 1322;
Anchorage Activities Building, Precinct 1328; First Unitarian Church, Precincts 1332 and 1334;
North Palm Beach Country Club, Precincts 1342 and 1346; Old Port Cove Recreation Room
between the North and South Quay Buildings, Precinct 1344; Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct 1350;
and Village Hall Council Chambers, Precincts 1348 and 1380. The polls will be open in the
voting places from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, should the polling locations change subsequent to the adoption of
this Resolution, the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise the correct
locations in the notice without the necessity of amending this Resolution.

Section 3. The offices for which said candidates shall be elected at the General Election are:
Village Councilmember, Group 1 (2 -year term)
Village Councilmember, Group 3 (2 -year term)
i Village Councilmember, Group 5 (2 -year term)
Section 4. The Village Clerk and election officials are hereby directed to arrange for the use of
voting machines at said General Election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is consistent
with the use of voting machines. The Village Clerk shall coordinate and arrange for ballots,
including absentee ballots, with the Supervisor of Elections.
Section 5. The Village Council hereby requests that the Palm Beach County Supervisor of
Elections conduct the Village's General Election, including runoffs as necessary. The Supervisor
of Elections shall conduct a Logic and Accuracy test for the tabulation of all ballots, including
absentee ballots. The Village Clerk (or designee) shall be present during such testing for the
runoff election, should one be necessary. The Village Council hereby authorizes the Supervisor of
Elections to tabulate and canvass all ballots cast during the General Election, including runoffs.
The Village Council authorizes the Supervisor of Elections (or designee) to serve as a member of
the municipal canvassing board for the runoff election, should one be necessary, along with the
Village Clerk (or Deputy Village Clerk) and Village Attorney.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
