Mayor Privett called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:00 ROLL-CALL
p.m, and asked the Deputy Village Clerk to call the roll,
all members being present.
Mayor Privett gave the invocation and Councilman Rhodes - INVOCATION &
led the Council and the public in the Pledge of Allegiance EI,EDGE OF
to the Flag. ALLEGIANCE
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes of Public
Hearing on Bill No. 166 held Thursday, September 14,
1972 were approved as written.
' On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, the minutes of Public
Hearing on Bill No. 167 held Thursday, September 14,
1972 were approved as written.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular
Meeting held Thursday, September 14, 1972 were approved
as written.
Mayor Privett and Ron Henson, President of the North Palm
Beach-Palm Beach Gardens Jaycees, jointly presented a
copy of Mayor PrivettTs Proclamation on "Friends of
Bevan Joslin DayT' and a Certificate of Recognition and
Appreciation from the Jaycees to those persons in
attendance who were named in the Mayor's Proclamation.
Mayor Privett presented the original Proclamation to
Bevan Joslin.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular
Meeting of Planning and Zoning Advisory Board held
August 9, 1972; the minutes of Regular Meeting of
Planning and Zoning Advisory Board held September 13,
1972; and the minutes of First Meeting of North Palm
Beach Contractors Board held September 20, 1972 were --
accepted.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, the financial statements
for the Village and for the North Palm Beach Country Club
for the period ending August 31, 1972 were accepted.

FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 45 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH CODE, BY AMENDING THE REAR AND SIDE YARD -
SETBACK REGULATIONS IN ZONING DISTRICT C-1 TO REQUIRE
SINGLE FAMILY AND MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DWELLING
STRUCTURES TO HAVE THE SAME REAR AND SIDE YARD SETBACK
REGULATIONS AS IS REQUIRED IN ZONING DISTRICT R-1 AND
R-3, RESPECTIVELY, AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS THERETO
was placed on second reading and read by title alone.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 167
Martin - Mayor Privett, Vice Mayor Cadby and Councilman ADOPTED AS
Martin voting aye; Councilman Rhodes voting-nay; and ORD, 20-72
Councilman Slater abstaining due to possible conflict
with his occupation = Bill No. 167 was adopted as
Ordinance No. 20-72.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 169
Martin, all present voting aye, Bill No. 169 entitled: PLACED ON
2ND READING
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, BY AMENDING REQUIREMENTS
FOR CONTRACTORS TO MAINTAIN SURETY BOND, PUBLIC
LIABILITY INSURANCE AND PUBLIC PROPERTY DAMAGE
INSURANCE
was placed on second reading and read by title alone.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 169
Rhodes, all present voting aye, Bill No. 169 was ADOPTED AS
adopted as Ordinance No. 21-72, ORD. 21-72
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 171
Martin, all present voting aye, Bill No. 171 entitled: PLACED ON
2ND READING
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 10.5 OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, BY EMPOWERING THE VILLAGE
COUNCIL TO REMOVE MEMBERS APPOINTED TO THE BOARD
OF GOVERNORS OF THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB
BY AT LEAST FOUR AFFIRMATIVE VOTES FOR REMOVAL ___
was placed on second reading and read by title alone.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 171
Martin, all present voting aye, Bill No, 171 was ADOPTED AS

Vice Mayor Cadby moved that George Kane be removed MOTION TO
from the North Palm Beach Country Club Board of REMOVE G.
Governors. The motion was seconded by Councilman KANE FROM
Slater. BD. OF GOV.

Councilman Rhodes moved that action on the aforementioned
motion be postponed for two weeks. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Martin. Mayor Privett, Councilman
Martin and Councilman Rhodes voted aye; Vice Mayor Cadby
and Councilman Slater voted nay. Therefore, motion
passed 3 to 2.
Council stated that the original motion made by Vice
Mayor Cadby and seconded by Councilman Slater shall
appear on the agenda for the Regular Meeting of
October 26, 1972 under Miscellaneous Business.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Slater, all present voting aye, Bill No. 173 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS
FOR CERTAIN YARD AREAS, OFF-STREET PARKING AND
OTHER VEHICULAR. USE AREAS IN COMMERCIAL ZONING
DISTRICTS FOR IINPROVED COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES WHICH
WERE IMPROVED PRIOR TO THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE
N0. 14-71 ENACTED ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1971
was placed on-first reading and read in full.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, Bill No. 174 entitled:
' AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING PORTIONS OF ORDINANCE N0. 18-71,
CONCERNING DETAILED APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1971-72
was placed on first reading and read in full.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution
No. 38-72 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE LIBRARY
BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No.
38-72.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, that the exception from
the swimming pool ordinance which had been granted to
Northlake Court Apartments be removed.
There being no further business to come before the
' Council, on motion of Councilman Rhodes, seconded by
Councilman Martin, all present voting aye, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:10 p.m.
