VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 1972
Present: H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Mayor
Ronald B. Cadby, Vice Mayor
Robert W. Martin, Councilman
Thomas B. Rhodes, Councilman
Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk
Absent: Robert F. Slater, Councilman
Mayor Privett called the Special Meeting to order at ROLL CALL
7:00 p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all
members being present except Councilman Slater.
Mayor Privett stated that the purpose of this meeting is PURPOSE OF
to constitute the Council as the official General Election MEETING
Canvassing Board for the purpose of canvassing the vote
of March 21, 1972, under the provisions of. the Village
Charter and Section 12-57 of the Village Code.
Council inspected the Statement of Canvass: for the Gen- INSPECTION OF
eral Election on March 21, 1972 for Precincts No. 48, STATEMENTS OF
49, 50 and 52. CANVASS
Clerk read the official tabulation of machine votes cast CLERK READS
in the General Election on March 21, 1972 and these are TAB OF MACHINE
' as follows: VOTES
Village Councilman, Group 1:
Ronald B. Cadby 1092 votes
Frank W. Carretta 925 votes
Village Councilman, Group 3:
Mervin H. McIntyre 869 votes
H. Mallory Privett, Jr. 1195 votes
Village Councilman, Group 5:
George R. Kane 676 votes
Francis T. Key, Jr. 189 votes
Robert W. Martin 1164 votes
Following the tabulation of machine votes,: Council pro- ABSENTEE
ceeded to open the absentee ballots which had been received BALLOTS
in the office of the Village Clerk. The Clerk then read a COUNTED
total for each candidate as follows:
Village Councilman, Group l:

Village Councilman, Group 3:

On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution
No. 9-72 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 21, 1972
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No.
9-72.
Clerk administered Oath of Office to those Councilmen OATHS OF OFFICE
elected in the March 21, 1972 General Election; namely, ADMINISTERED
Councilman Ronald B. Cadby, Councilman Robert W. Martin,
and Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr. This is in
accordance with Article III, Section 5, of the Village.
Charter and these oaths shall be spread upon the minutes
o£ the Council.
There being no further business to come before the Council ADJOURNMENT
at this Special Meeting, on motion of Councilman Martin,
seconded by Vice Mayor Cadby, all present voting aye, the
meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
