MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
HELD
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 1971
FLORIDA
Present: Thomas R. Bell, Mayor
Ronald B. Cadby, Councilman
H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman
Herbert A. Watt, Councilman
Dolores R. Inialker, Village Clerk
Mayor Bell called the Special Meeting to order at 7:08 ROLL CALL
p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members
being present.
Mayor Bell stated that the purpose of this. meeting is PURPOSE OF
to constitute the Council as the official .General Election MEETING
Canvassing Board for the purpose of canvassing the vote
of March 16, 1971, under the provisions of the Village --
Charter and Section 56 of Ordinance No. 42.
Council inspected the Statement of Canvass for the General INSPECTION OF
Election on March 16; 1971 for Precincts No. 48, 49, 50 STATEMENT OF
and 52. CANVASS
Clerk read the official tabulation of machine votes CLERK READS
cast in the General Election on March 16, 1971 and TAB OF MACHINE
these are as follows: VOTES
Village Councilman- Group 2
Mervin H. McIntyre 480 votes.
Thomas B. Rhodes 556 votes
Villag e Councilman, Group 4
Robert F. Slater 796 votes
Villag e Councilman, GrouU 5
Walter L. Huckeba 187 votes
Robert W. Martin 543 votes
James P. O'Flarity 321 votes
Following the tabulation of machine votes, Council
proceeded to open the absentee ballots which had been
received in the office of the Village Clerk. Clerk
then read a total for each candidate as follows:

Loyalty Oaths were read and signed by Councilmen LOYALTY OATHS
Martin, Rhodes and Slater, as required by Florida READ & SIGNED
Statutes 876.05.
After the newly elected Councilmen took their Oaths of
Office and signed their Loyalty Oaths, they became
official members of the Village Council, and Mayor
Thomas R. Bell and Councilman Herbert A. Watt vacated
their places at the Council table and the newly elected
Councilmen took their respective places at the Council
table.
