AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be available to help you prepare your tax
return through April 14, 2015 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Village Hall Council Chambers.
Taxpayers should bring 2014 tax forms, W-2’s, 1099’s and other tax infor-
mation along with their 2013 tax return. Taxpayers are also asked to bring
proper ID. For information, call the Village Clerk’s office at 841-3355.
Dear Residents,
When someone is elected or is employed by a government
agency it is often referred to as being a “public servant” or en-
tering “public service”. In the Village of North Palm Beach we
have dedicated elected officials and employees whose main
focus is to provide the best services at the lowest possible cost.
I would be remiss if I did not mention our former Councilman,
Bill Manuel.
Bill Manuel had a standard question at budget time, and
throughout the year: “Is it something we want, or something we
need?” He was frugal with your tax dollars, and generous with
his time and support for residents, employees and fellow elect-
ed officials. Bill will be remembered as a person who could dis-
agree with you on some issues, but still work with you for the good of the community. He was a
gentleman, a true “public servant”, and will be missed.
Sincerely,
Jim Kelly

The North Palm Beach Police Department would like to inform the public
about a scam that is targeting FPL customers. Scammers pretending to be
FPL are calling customers to tell them their accounts are past due. The per-
son is then told that they must pay with a Green Dot Money Pak card to avoid
being disconnected. The scammer will appear official, but FPL does not de-
mand credit card information or take Green Dot Money Pak cards as pay-
ment. Victims have reported that the scammer on occasion knows personal
information to dispel their alarm. It is important to remember that personal in-
formation can be found in many ways via the internet and not to lose focus
and panic.
Do not get caught in the moment and give your credit card information or con-
firm personal information when you do not know or without first confirming the
source. If you feel like something is not right, it normally is not.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up the phone and call FPL at the number on your bill (561)697 -8000
to verify whether it was truly FPL calling. Remember, you will need your account number when calling to
verify your identity. If you encounter a situation similar to this contact the Police Department immediately.
