Everard, Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Thomas R. Be11, Vice-Mayor Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at ROLL CALL 8:15 p.m. and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Vice-Mayor Bell, who was excused. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Privett, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular Meeting held Thursday, April 24, 1969 were approved as corrected. Mayor Lewis referred to letter he had received from William L. Hawkins, Safety Council of Palm Beach County, dated May 2, 1969 relative to Council appointing a representative from North Palm Beach to serve on the Public Official Coordinating Committee. Council appoint- ed Councilman Allan V. Everard as the representative from this community to serve on this committee. Mayor Lecvis stated that communications have been sent to all state and county officials concerning the possi- bility of having a meeting on the particular sewage problem. Mayor Lewis stated that he had gotten a report back from several of -the young people who participated in Civic Day. These young people were extremely apprecia- tive of the interest of the Council and the Village in establishing a program of this nature and felt they had learned something about the governmental functions of _ a municipality. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, the minutes of Board of Governors meeting held April 16, 1969; the minutes of_ Beautification Committee meeting held April 23, 1969; and 'the minutes o£ Planning and Zoning Advisory Board meetings of April 16, 1969 and April 23,_1969 were accepted by Council. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, that we donate the amount of money to 'the North Palm Beach Kiwanis Club that they paid for 'their license ($250.00) out of the contribution fund contingent upon the fact that they use or return a like amount or more for public purposes in the Village of North Palm Beach. 4/24/69 MINUTES APPROVED AS CORRECTED COUNCILMAN EVERARD APPOINTED TO SERVE. MITTED TO FIRST One project was recommended by Library Board, one by AMERICAN BANK mi€~eet1on Advisory Board and one by Beautification Com- On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, that Council accept L. J. Construction Company's proposal on replacing ficus trees with palms. REVIEWED L. J. CONSTRUCTION CO. PROPOSAL ON REPLACING FICUS TREES WITH PALMS ACCEPTED Council received letter from Animal Rescue League dated CONTRIBUTION TO May 5, 1969 re a contribution from the Village to this ANIMAL RESCUE League. Village Manager advised Council that $250.00 LEAGUE had been appropriated in the 1968-69 budget for this purpose, and Council was not opposed to this contribution.
