01-09-1969 VC REG-M~. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 1969 Present: Thomas'iF. Lewis, Mayor Thomas''R. Bell, Vice Mayor , David C. Clark, Councilman A11an V. Everard, Councilman Harbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. ROLL CALL and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Village Manager Robbins, who was excused. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Vice Mayor Bell, 12/10/68 all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular ,Meeting held MINUTES APPROVED,- Tuesday, December 10, 1968 were approved as written. Mr. Les Harrell, Chairman of the Recreation Advisory Board, presented the prizes for the Christmas Decoration Contest to the Following persons who were in attendance at this meeting: Mrs. Norman Robson ~ 736 Waterway Drive First Prize - Best Religious Theme Mr. Edwin Ludwig ~! 513 Driftwood Road Second Place - Best Religious Theme Mr. William Schrader 717 Kittyhawk Way First Place - Best Doorway Mr. Leslie Ward ~~ 506 Marlin Road Second Place - Best Doorway ~, I Mr. Robert A11eh 508 Lighthouse Drive First Place - Best Living Tree Mr. Richard Hurd 618 Shore-Road Second Place - Best Living Triee Mr. Harrell informed the members of the audience that first and second prizes for the Best Living Tree were donated by the North Palm Beach Garden Club. Following is a list of winners of the Christmas!Decoration Contest who were not in attendance at this meeting. Their ched<s will be mailed to their homes. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman ~ Watt, all present voting aye, the minutes of Board of '-" Governors meeting held Wednesday, December 18, 1968 were ~ accepted by Council. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, Bill No. 62 enlItitled• AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PAT,M BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH AN APPLICATION F~`EE WHICH MUST ACCOMPANY ALL APPLICATIONS FOR VARIANCES IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, AND; FURTHER REQUIRING THAT APPLICATIONS FOR VARIANCES BE MADE UPON FORMS REQUIRED BY THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH was placed on second reading and read by tit~e only. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Col Gilman Clark, all present voting aye, Bill No. 62 was adopted as Ordinance No. 186-69. '; Village Clerk read highlights of Huilding Department Statistical Data Report for December 1968 an8 this report was accepted by Council. i I Vi1la.ge Clerk read highlights of Monthly Report from Director of'Public Safety for December 1968 and this report was accepted by Council. i i Village Clerk read North Palm Beach Library Report for December 1968 and this report was accepted by Council. Miss Ellen Ladeda, President of the North Palm Beach "Action Teens", was in attendance at this meeting. Miss Ladeda presented the Council with the $50.00 prize the "Action Teens" had won in the Jupiter-Tequesta Christmas Parade. Council returned the $50.00 to Miss Ladeda, indicating their desire that the"Action Teens" use this money for their group's activities,~and stating that this was in appreciation of the "Action~Teens" efforts and interest in this community. ; P. ', I for winning first place in the "Christmas in Dixie" ParadQ in Lake Park on December 15, 1968, and for winning second place in the Jupiter-Tequesta Christmas Parade on December 21, 1968. i Vice Mayor Bell commented on the conduct of the "Action Teens" a.t the Jupiter-Tequesta Christmas Parade. He stated that even though they were downhearted because of not having won first place in the parade, they controlled their disappointment magnificently and acted like perfect ladies and gentlemen.
