Mayor Lewis reconvened the recessed meeting of the Tax
Equalizing Board held Monday, August 4, 1969 at 7:32 p.m.
and asked-.the Clerk to call the roll, all members being
present except Vice-Mayor Bell.
At the opening session of the Tax Equalizing Board on
Monday, August 4, 1969 the Village Clerk read notice of
Tax Equalizing Board Meeting which was published in the
Palm Beach Post July 13, 1969 and posted as required by- ___
Charter. Also, Mayor Lewis stated at the opening session
of the Tax Equalizing Board that the authorization far the
Village to impose and collect real estate taxes_ is granted
under Florida Statute 167.43, and the criteria for placing
improved property on the tax rolls is contained in Florida.
Statute 193.11, subparagraph 4.
The Council had one assessm®nt to..act.upon at this meeting;
namely, the assessment of Mr. & Mrs. Ted Benda, owners of
Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 30, Plat 3 (Farman Apartments)
which had been held in abeyance until Mr. Hunnicutt, Pres -
ident of Hunnicutt & Associates, Inc_,.Appraisers for
the Village of North Palm Beach, analyzed the non-
audited 1967 financial statement submitted by Mr. Benda.

The Chairman of the Tax Equalizing Board asked if anyone _"
was present to represent the Farman Apartments and their ---
particular plea, and no one was present. Attorney Theodore
Babbitt was present at the Tax Equalizing Board Meeting __
held August 4, representing Mr. & Mrs. Benda.-
On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman ASSESSMENT OF
Watt, all present voting aye, that we reject Mr. Benda's EARMAN APTS.
plea and maintain the assessment of Farman Apartments at TO REMAIN AT
$351,810. $351,810
There being no further business to come before the Tax ADJOURNMENT
Equalizing Board, on motion of Councilman Watt, seconded
by Councilman Privett, all present voting aye, the meeting
was adjourned for the tax year 1969 at 7:47 p. m.
