Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at B:OS p.m. ROLL CALL
and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, all members
being present except Vice-Mayor Bell who teas excused.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman
Privett, all present voting aye, the minutes of Special
Meeting held Tuesday, March 25, 1969 and the minutes of
Regular Meeting held Thursday, March 27, 1969 were approved
as written.
Mayor Lewis stated that last evening he and Councilman
Watt were at the Colonnades meeting Mrs. Florence
Fisher and her companion, Mrs. Joan [~Tilliams. He stated
that Mrs. Fisher appeared for the MYCON program this
morning at Riviera Beach High School and this afternoon
at Howell Watkins Junior High School. She.will appear
tomorrow morning at Palm Beach Gardens High School. for.
a student assembly and tomorrow evening at;8:00 p.m. in
the Palm Beach Gardens High School Auditorium for adults.
Councilman Watt expressed the reaction of tudents at
Riviera Beach High School and Howell Watkins Junior High
School on April 10. He stated he has never before seen
a reaction like the students had to Mrs. Fisher's talk.
He said it was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop
and that the students were completely hynotized. After
Mrs. Fisher had completed her talk, there were better than
50 students at Riviera Beach High School and about 30 at
Howell Watkins who came up on stage to personally talk
to her and congratulate her. Councilman Watt stated that
having Mrs. Fisher appear for these students was the.-
greatest thing that has happened in our school system
since he has been around.
Mayor Lewis stated-that. these three programs are being.
handled by the youth of MYCON.
Mayor Lewis referred to article in this evening's Post-Times
in reference to-stinking sewage problem at ,North Palm_Beach.
Utilities. He stated he sent telegrams to Mr. Vince Patton,
Florida Air & Water Pollution Control Commission, Senators
Bafalis, Thomas and Friday and Representative Dave Clark,on
this problem. He also contacted Congressman Paul Rogers'
office and Senator Ed Gurney's office to try to get them
to do something about this situation. i.

RELEASING TOXIC VAPORS; PROHIBITING THE'. ILLEGAL USE
(COMMONLY KNOWN AS "GLUE-SNIFFING") OF SAID GLUES
BY MINORS AND OTHERS; DEFINING MODEL GLUE; AND

NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB FOR ALL PURCHASES UNDER
$200.00; AND SETTING FORTH PURCHASING PROCEDURES AT
THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB

BY ELIMINATING ANY MODIFICATIONS OR SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS
TO THE REQUIREMENT THAT ALL SWIMMING POOLS BE FENCED
OR ENCLOSED BY SCREENING SO AS TO PREVENT CHILDREN FROM
INADVERTENTLY WANDERING INTO POOLS AND REQUIRING SAFETY
GATES ATTACHED THERETO; AND BY SETTING >'ORTH AN EFFECTIVE
DATE OF JANUARY 1, 1970 FOR ALL OWNERS OF SWIMMING POOLS

all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. 388-69
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF iVORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE VILLAGE FIREMEN'S
RELIEF AND PENSION TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 388-69.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard,
all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. 389-69
entitled: '
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE VILLAGE POLICEMEN'S
RELIEF AND PENSION TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 389-69.
Village Manager read North Palm Beach Library Report for
March 1969 and this report was accepted by Council.
Village Manager gave a status report on the furnishings
for the new library.
Village Manager read highlights of Building Department
Statistical Data Report for March 1969 and this report
was accepted by Council.
Village Manager read highlights of monthly report from
Director of Public Safety for March 1969 and ,this report
was accepted by Council.
On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded byjCouncilman
Watt, all present voting aye, that $1,500.00',be drawn
from Contingent Account No. 500 for the purpose of codi-
fication.
Council reviewed the plans for remodeling the snack bar
and offices at the Country Club and referred the plans
back to the Building Department.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
on motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard,
all present voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at 10:45 p.m.
