Lewis, Mayor Thomas R. Bell, Vice-Mayor David C. Clark, Councilman Allan V. Everard, Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Mayor. Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:05 p.m and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members being present. On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, the minutes of Tax Equalizing Board Meeting held Monday, August 5, 1968, and the minutes of Tax Equalizing Board Meeting held Tuesday, August 27, 1968 were approved as written. On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular Meeting held Tuesday, August 27, 1968 were approved as written,- and the minutes of Special Meeting held Tuesday, September 3, 1968 were approved as read. Mayor Lewis informed Council that he had a meeting with the "Action Teens" group this evening, and that they have volunteered as a group to construct our Christmas in Dixie float, and that they will also make the same arrange- ments if we enter our float in the Golden Palms Festival. Council was in complete accord with the group's offer and will work with them on this project. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting aye, the minutes of Recreation Advisory Board Meeting held August 8, 1968-and the minutes of Recreation Advisory Board Meeting held August 29, 1968 were accepted by Council. Mayor Lewis referred to letter from David H. Brady, Mayor of West Palm Beach, re the State purchasing the 80 acre tra.et of beach property on Singer Island to be retained as a State park and recreation area. Mayor Lewis will write a letter to Mr. Ney Landrum, Director of Outdoor Recreational Development Council in Tallahassee, expressing the Village's willingness to cooperate in this endeavor: On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Clark, all present voting aye, Bi11.No_ 54 entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ANNEXING CERTAIN LAND ROLL CALL MINUTES OF TAX EQUALIZING BD. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting aye, Bill No. 57 entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, LEVYING A TAX ON REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITI-IIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH FOR THE YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1968, FIXING THE TOTAL VALUATION THEREON AND THE TAX MILEAGE RATE THEREON FOR SAID YEAR; ADOPTING A FISCAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR NOVEMBER 1, 1968 TO OCTOBER 31, 1969, INCLUSIVE, FOR THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT AND DEBT SERVICE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH AND FOR THE PARTICULAR USE OF THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB; APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR EXPENDITURES AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE was placed on .first reading and read in full. Council. 1968 ACCEPTED Village Manager informed Council that the Village went out for BIDS FOR NEW bids today on our new public library. The bids will be opened LIBRARY Thursday, September 26, at 3:00 p.m. Mayor Lewis stated that Councilman Everard will be absent from OCEAN SCIENCE next Tuesday nigh°t's meeting. He will be attending a dinner PROGRAP'I MEETING meeting on the proposed Ocean Science program. Village Manager and Mayor will attend a Public Hearing PUBLIC HEARING September 13 to be held in West Palm Beach by the State ON BULKHEAD LINE of Florida. on bulkhead line.
