Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order a.t 8:10 ROLL CALL
p.m. and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, all
members being present.
On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, 5/28/68
all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular Meeting held MINUTES
Tuesday, May 28, 1968 were approved as written. APPROVED
Mayor Lewis referred to letter received from Florida.
Peace Officers` Association relative to symposium to be
held in Fort Lauderdale on July 17, 1968.
Mayor Lewis referred to letter received from Animal
Rescue League, expressing-their thanks for the $250
donation from the Vi1la.ge.
Mayor Lewis referred to James Blakely's letter of
resignation From the Beautification Committee.
Mayor Lewis read letter from North Palm Beach-Palm
Beach Gardens Jaycees relative to representatives from
Riviera. Beach-Lake Park Jaycees approaching Village Council
with request for donation for the Fourth of July fire-
works display.
H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Chairman of the Charter Board,
was present at -this meeting to present his final report
to Council on the Charter Board. He stated that a.
Public Hearing on the revised Charter would be-held
July 25, 1968 and that a Charter election would be held
July 30, 1968.

Bell, all present voting aye, Bi11 No. 52 relative to rezoni ng ABOLISHED

On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, BILL N0. 53
all present voting aye, thaw Section 1 of Bill No. 53 be amended AMENDED
as follows: To add after the word Florida - "with the follow-
ing exception: that Articla 31, Section 14.5, Chapter 2,
Section 22, Paragraph 221(a.) be amended to read as follows:
Standpipe systems for Cl ass I and Class III services
shall have risers which are not less than 4 inches
in size for buildings no t exceeding 5 stories or 50
feet in height, and 6 in ches for buildings.in_ excess __
of 5 stories or 50 feet in height."

On motion of Mayor Lewis, seconded by Councilman Watt, that
Council deny request for donation from Riviera. Beach-Lake
Park Jaycedslfor Fourth of July fireworks display.
During discussion of the original motion, Councilman Clark
made a, motion to table this matter until Council's Regular
Meeting of June 25, 1968. Motion died for. lack of a. 'second
Council then voted on original motion - 3 to 2, Vice-Mayor
Bell and Councilman Clark opposed - that above request be
denied.
Vice-Mayor Bell returned the gavel to Mayor Lewis.
