PORT OF PALM BEACH 100 YEAR CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the Port of Palm Beach was established in the year 1915 as an independent taxing district
under the provisions of the Laws of Florida, Acts of 1915, Chapter 7081, as amended and supplemented; and
WHEREAS, the Port of Palm Beach is celebrating 100 years of economic growth through international
trade and commerce; and
WHEREAS, the Port of Palm Beach is a life line to our Caribbean neighbors; and
WHEREAS, the Port of Palm Beach is a self - sustaining port relying on the revenue generated from its
operations, and has not levied taxes on its district in 38 years; and
WHEREAS, through its cruise partnerships, The Port of Palm Beach has brought international tourism
to the state contributing to millions of dollars in revenue for private and public interests alike; and
WHEREAS, the Port of Palm Beach currently ranks as the fourth busiest container port of Florida's 15
deep water ports, and is one of the top 20 in the nation, and
WHEREAS, The Port of Palm Beach is one of the largest employers in Palm Beach County; and
continues to bring employment opportunities through diversification and innovation; and
WHEREAS in this year of 2015, we commemorate the Port of Palm Beach and its 100 years of
community partnership and development.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert A. Gebbia, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the
Village of North Palm Beach, do hereby recognize the
PORT OF PALM BEACH 100 YEAR CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY
in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida; and congratulate the Port of Palm Beach on 100 years of
service and economic significance.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Village of North
