Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order a,t 8:15 p.m. and asked the ROLL CALL _
, Village Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except

On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all 6/27/67 MINUTES
present voting a,ye, the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, APPROVED AS
June 27, 1967 were approved as corrected. CORRECTED
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all 7/11/67 MINUTES
present voting a.ye, the minutes of the Special Session held July APPROVED AS READ
11, 1967 were approved as read.
Mayor Lewis read Proclamation proclaiming August 5, 1967 as PROCLAMATION RE
"Winfree Day." Mayor Lewis also read Proclamation declaring August WINFREE DAY &
19, 1967 as "Soap Box Derby Day USA" a.nd Don David Winfree as PROCLAMATION RE SOAP
honorary mayor for that day. BOX DERBY DAY USA
Mayor Lewis presented above-mentioned Proclamations to Don David
Winfr€e. He also presented him with a. North Palm Beach Key to the
City and a letter authored by Mayor Lewis dated July 18, 1967,
directed to the Honorable John S. Ballard, Mayor of Akron, Ohio, _
for presentation to Mayor Ballard.
Mayor Lewis read his letter from Don Winfree dated July 13, 1967 7/13/67 LETTER TO
indicating that the Winfree family were happy to accept the Ma.yor's MAYOR FROM DON WIN-
invitation for luncheon at the country club on "Winfree Day," FREE-
August 5.
Mayor Lewis read letter from Don Winfree dated 7/15/67 directed 7/15167 LETTER FROM
to Acting Village Manager, H. A. Watt, thanking him for the five DON WINFREE TO H. A.
complimentary tickets received from Mr. Robert Fletcher of the WATT
Bonanza restaurant for dinner for the Winfree family a,t tha.t
restaurant. -

submitting his resignation as Village Clerk effective June 5, 1967. LETTER OF RESIGNATION

On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all
present voting aye, Council accepted both of the aforementioned
minutes.
Village Manager read highlights of report from Director of Public
Safety, Herb Kohl, dated--July 1, 1967.
Village Manager read highlights of Building Official, W. G.
Carver's, Sta.tistieal Data Report for the month of June 1967.
Village Manager read highlights of Vi1la.ge Financial Statement
for period ending May 31, 1967.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, a.11
present voting aye, Council accepted this report as written,
and a true copy of the report will be attached to the official
minutes of this meeting in the Vi1la.ge Minute Book.
On motion'of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, a.ll
present voting aye, Council accepted Village Audit Report prepared
by Callaway, Carpenter & May dated April 30, 1967.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard,
all present voting a.ye, Bill No. 26 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING PORTIONS OF ORDINANCE N0. 135-66, CONCERNING
DETAILED APPROPRIATIONS FOR 'THE FISCAL YEAR 1966-67

On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all
present voting a.ye, Bill No. 26 was adopted as Ordinance No. 152-67
On motion o£ Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard,
all present voting aye, Bi11 No. 28 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
REQUIRING FENCING AROUND SWIP+ID9ING POOLS AND REQUIRING
SAFETY GATES ATTACHED THERETO

was placed on first reading and read in full.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all
present voting aye, Council redesignated number of Resolution
310-67, appointing Village Clerk, to Resolution No. 310A-67.
On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, a.ll
present voting a.ye, Council agreed that the Mayor of the Vi1la,ge
of North Palm Beach be authorized to sign and enter into a.
contra,et, effective immediately, in the name of the Village of
North Palm Beach, with Nozzle Nolen relative to rodent control
as specified in said contract.
Mayor Lewis advised Village Attorney Gildan to answer Mr. John
L. Remsen's letter dated July 11, 1967 re Village East Plat with
respect to the legality of his proposal and indicated that the
Council would like to receive a proposed replat of Village East,
including H G EYiterprises' proposed complex.
