APPROVED Mr, Robert Cromwell, Director of the Northern Palm Beach County PLACQUE & HONORARY Chamber of Commerce, presented the Village of North Palm Beach with a MEMBERSHIP IN NORTHERN placque and an honorary membership in the Northern Palm Beach County PALM BEACH COUNTY Chamber of Commerce. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRE- SENTED TO VILLAGE Schedule of estimated start and completion dates of Capital Outlay SOHEDULE OF ESTIMATED items was accepted by Council, START & COMPLETION DAZES ACCEPTED BY COUNCIL Memo from Herb Kohl, Director of Public Safety, dated January 5, 1967 OPENING OF FIRETREE ROAD relative to opening of Firetree Road was read by Village Clerk Eassa. DISCUSSED BY COUNCIL Village Manager Eassa was instructed by Council to seoure cost estimate in connection with the opening of this road and was to check with Palm Beach Gardens to see if they would pay their proportionate share, Village Manager Eassa apprised Council that Barcus, Kindred & Company BAROUS KINDRED REPORT would have report ready for the Council in six weeks, This report is TO BE READY IN 6 WEEKS relative to the purchase of North Palm Beach Utilities by the Village, On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all BILL N0, 13 PLACED ON present voting aye, Bill No, 13 entitled: 2ND READING & READ BY TITLE ONLY AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, REGULATING CONDUCT CONSTITUTING AN OFFENSE BY PERSONS IN THE VILLAGE, PREVENTING DISORDER AND II~IORALITY, PROTECT- ING PUBLIC MORALS AND PRESCRIB:[NG PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS was placed on second reading and read by title only. ' On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, Proposed Resolution No. 289-67 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATIDN FROM PALM BEACH COUNTY TO THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO SUBMIT AND SEEK THE PASSAGE OF A SPECIAL ACT FOR NORTH PALM BEACH, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO MARKED EXHIBIT "A" . AND BY REFERENCE MADE A PART HEREOF was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 289-67 On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. 290-67 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING LAW DAY II.S,A, A5 A DAY ON WHICH STUDENTS WHO RESIDE IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH SHALL PARTICIPATE IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE VILLAGE BY ASSUMING THE ROLES OF VARIOUS ELECTED AND APPOINTIVE VILLAGE OFFICIALS FOR THE PURPOSES OF ACQUIR- ING GREATER CIVIC AWARENESS OF THEIR MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 290-67. ' On motion of Councilman Watt seconded by Vice-Mayor Bell, all present voting aye, Council awarded contract for 1~ ton cab and chassis, approx- imately 194 inch wheel base equipped with 16 ft. scow body, hydraulically dumped, 1967 model, in the amount of $3,885.00 to Roger Dean Chevrolet, West Palm Beach, Florida. On motion of Uice Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, Council approved payment from V3.Ilage Contingent Account in the amount of X100 to E, M, Jacomo and C, A, Dick, respectively, as a token of appreciation from the Village Council for their efforts in building and maintaining the float for the Christmas in Dixie Parade, the Tencennial Parade and the South Florida Fair and Exposition Parade. Village Manager was instructed by Council to advise Burnup & Sims, Inc. that their Franchise ordinance will be invalid effective March 23, 1967 because of non-performance with the specific articles of the ordinance. Mr. J, Cohen, 720 Teal Way, North Palm Beach, Florida complained of the sharp dip in the road on Prosperity Farms Road just north of Northlake Boulevard. He also complained about the atop sign at Monet Road and Prosperity Farms Road being so difficult to detect, Village Manager Eassa was_ instructed by Council to write a letter to the County in connection with this, requesting rectification.
