08-22-1967 VC REG-M MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 1967 Present: Thomas F. Lewis, Mayor David C. Clark, Councilman Allan V. Everard, Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Thomas R. Bell, Vice-Mayor Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order a.t 8:05 p.m. and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, a.11 members being present except Vice-Mayor Bell. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting aye, the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, July 18, 1967 were approved a.s written. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, a.11 present voting a.ye, the minutes of the Public Hearing held Tuesday, July 18, 1967; the minutes of the Special Meeting held Monday, August 7, 1967; and the minutes of the Public Hearing held Tuesday, August 15, 1967 were approved a,s written. Mayor Lewis read letter from Major Frank C. Chace, Jr., U. S. Marine Corps, dated August 10, 1967, thanking the Mayor for the ' wonderful honor bestowed upon him by the.Village on the occasion of his departure for Vietnam. Mayor Lewis read letter of thanks from Don David Winfree, winner of the local Soap Box Derby, for the luncheon the Village ha.d for him a.nd his family a.t the North Palm Beach Country Club on August 5, 1967. Mayor Lewis read letter dated August 8, 1967, directed to the attention of L. J. Robbins, Village Manager, from William Werling, President of Shore Club Building `rA" and Dr. William R. Boos, President of Shore Club Building "C", expressing their appreciation for the courteous and efficient service rendered by the men of the Village Police a.nd Fire Departments, and requesting consideration of a salary increase for these men. Highlights of Village Financial Statement for period ending June 30, 1967 were read by Village Manager Robbins. ' On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Evera.rd, all present voting a.ye, Council accepted Village Financial Statement for period ending June 30, 1967, and a. true copy of this statement will be a.tta.ched to the minutes of this meeting. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting a.ye, Council authorized disbursement from General Contingent Account No. 5-500 in the amount of $350.53 - $271.83 for surety bond for Village Manager, and $79.00 for the field house at Prosperity Park. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting a.ye, Bill No. 24 entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 48 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 20, THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY LIMITING THE PROXIMITY OF GASOLINE OR OIL STATIONS TO CERTAIN STRUCTURES OR TO OTHER SUCH STATIONS WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH was placed on second reading and read by title only. On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting aye, Bill No. 24 wa.s adopted as Ordinance No. 154-67.
