VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

TUESDAY, JULY 26, 1966

Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:35 P,m, and asked the Village ROLL CALL
Clerk to call the roll, all members being present, Vice-Mayor•Bell arrived
at 7:45 p.m.
Karl Taylor, President of the Inter-City Ambulance Squad, gave a report on
their operation, He corrected false. statements which have appeared about
the Squad, and advised the Council that they will continue their operation
on a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year, basis, The equipment awned by the
Squad exceeds the required amount; they are completely protected by
insurance; they are financially stable; all volunteers have the Advanced
Red Cross First Aid card and the facilities have been approved by the
Health Department, Mr. Taylor was given a vote of confidence by the
Council and the Squad was highly commended for the work they have done
in the past.
On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present
voting aye, the minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 12, 1966 were
approved as written.

Mayor Lewis stated that the Tuesday, September 6, Wednesday, September 7, SCHEDULE OF
and Thursday, September 8 meetings will be Budget Workshop Hearings, MEETINGS
There will be no meetings on August 16, 23 and 30 because of vacations, AUGIIST AND
The first Regular Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 1966. SEPTEMBER 1966
Village Clerk Eassa presented Council with minutes of Recreation Ad. Board
held June 27 and July 13, 1966 which. were accepted by Council
Village Clerk Eassa presented Council with Police and Fire Department
Activities Report for the month o£ June, 1966.
Village Clerk Eassa presented Council with a letter written by K, C,
Mock Associates, Inc. to Congressman Paul Rogers in connection with
release of spoils area on Lake Worth.. This matter will be followed
up in two weeks,
Village Clerk read Building Official Report dated July I9, 1966,
stating that the Village ranks third in value in regard to dwelling
units and seventh in building permits,
On motion of Councilman Everard, seconded by Councilman Clark, all
voting aye, except Mayor Lewis who was opposed, Proposed Resolution
No. 276-66 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING HURLEY HANKEY TO
THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 276-66.

8:00 a.m.

On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Mayor Lewis, after passing the CONTINGENT ACCOUNT
gavel to Vice-Mayor Bell, all present voting aye, authorization was DISBURSEMENT AUTHORI-
~'anted for disbursement from the Contingent Account not to exceed ' ZATION X1,000 FOR
$1,000 to lease whatever packing equipment the Village needs in order to GARBAGE PACKER
maintain regular garbage and trash pickup. EQUIPMENT
Tax Assessor, Herbert A. Watt, requested Council to accept his resigna-
tion as Tax Assessor and asked Council to make an appointment for a
Tax Assessor to take his place.
On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Everard, all
present voting aye, resignation of Tax Assessor, Herbert A. Watt was
accepted.
Council deferred discussion of a Charter Revision Committee until the
next Regular Meeting on Tuesday August 9, 1966.
A recess was called at 9:40 p,m, until 10:00 p.m. to ,prepare a resolu-
tion appointing Mrs. Frances A. Fox as the Tax Assessor for The Village
of North Palm Beach, Florida. Mayor Lewis reconvened the meeting at
10:00 p.m.
On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Everard, all
present voting aye, a proposed resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COIINCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPOINTING A VILLAGE TAX
ASSESSOR FOR SUCH VILLAGE
was read in full, appointing Frances A, Fox as Tax Assessor for The
Village of North Palm Beach, and was adopted as Resolution No. 277-66.
With no further business to come before the Council, on motion of
Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting
age, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
