He stated the suit had been entered in the courts and when a
hearing dato was announced; he would inform-the Council.

Mayor Lewis reported that out of almost 2,000 questionnaires VI?T~FSCE
mailed, 44 replies had been received regarding whether or not HA~l~`.0
the.. Village Ha11 should be open on Saturday mornings. 42 were R~"AITf
negative votes and. 2 were 1'or Saturday openings.' ~ Mayor. Lewis CL~_~SL~ ~
announced, therefore, that the 'Village Hall would '.not be open GN SA'.'S.
on Saturdays and. he instructed- the Ma.lna.ger to so notify Village
employees. ,

Public Safety A. G. Dudden, submitting his resignation-due to DUa~DEI'
health reasons, efifective Friday, January 28, 1966. The resig-RE..IGi`S
nation was accepted and by Council consent, Sgt. Herbert Kohl
was-named Acting Chief wztil a permanent replacement for Chief ..~:~ ,
Dudden is named. The Manager was instructed to issue a memo to
members of the Public Safety Department, advising that Acting
Chief/Sgt,-Kohl will begin this responsibility at GG:Gl on ~, .
January 299.1966. .
Mayor Lewis announced that he vaould be in the Village Ha11 MA"FOR --
beginning Monday, January 319 19669,-acting as Village Manager; CABS
until a new Manager has been selected9 and he instructed-the F07; M'G. _
Manager to issue a memo, calling for a meeting of all depart- -
men heads9 to be held on Monday9 January S1st9 at 9:00 a.m.

cial in which he referred to a county-wine building report,
showing the Village in fourth place in the county in-value
of dwellings under construction and sixth in dollar value
of all permits issued in the final quarter of,1965. .•

certificate for resigning Chief Dudden, thanking him for his
years of faithful service to the Village as head of the Public
Safety Department.
