MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLA.
HELD

Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.in,
and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members being
present. Mayor Lewis then stated the the special purpose
of the meeting was to canvass the results of-the Special
Election held June 30, 1965 and to comply with,the new
Charter requirement that the tax assessment roll be prey
sented to the Village Counc~.l on or before July 1 of each
year.
The Clerk, as Registration Officer, proceeded to open and
count the absentee ballots in front of the Council. He
then declared the final results of the election to be as
follows:
Amendment No. 1 124 For, 2 Against
Amendment No. 2 124 For, 7 Against
Amendment No. 3 _129 For, 2 Against
Amendment No, 4 124 For, 7 Against
Amendment No. 5 123 For, 5 Against
On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman
Everard, all members voting aye, Resolution No. 241-65
entitled
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PATIVT BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL
ELECTION (CHARTER AB~EN.I~Ei~TS) HELD ON JUNE 30,
1965
was adopted.
The 1965 tax assessment roll was presented at this time
by the Tax Assessor Gordon Duncan. Mr. Duncan stated
that in accordance with a recent Supreme Court ruling,
he was assessing all property in the Village at 100~-
of the full cash value. On motion of Councilman U7att,
seconded by Vice-~2ayor Bell, all members voting aye,
the Council accepted the tax assessment roll.

On motion of Councilman Everard, seconded by Councilman
1Vatt, all members voting aye, the_Village Manager was
instructed. to send a notice to owners of property in the
Village, showing what the 1965 assessment would be. The
notice was also to state the .deadline for receiving
written objections and the date that the Council will sit
as the Tax Equalizing Board, vahich will be August 2, 1965.
