ROLL CALL
Mayor Aubrey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. All members of Council were present,
except President Pro Tem. Norris, who was out of town. All members of staff were present.
COUNTRY CLUB HVAC TEMPORARY SYSTEM
Discussion took place concerning a cost effective temporary solution for issues with the HVAC
system in the Country Club clubhouse
Mr. Huff reviewed three options: 1) repairing only the failed components of the existing chiller;
2) replacing the existing chiller and recovering the unit for use in a new clubhouse; and
3) installing temporary interior air conditioning units and additional split systems. Mr. Huff
advised that installing split systems at approximately $25,000, would be the most cost effective
method, but cautioned that it is a short-term fix. Public Works Director Brian Moree discussed
logistical challenges if option 2 was selected. Mr. Moree reviewed placement and number of
units, if option 3 was selected.
Council consensus was in favor of option 3. This item will be placed on an upcoming Regular
Session agenda for approval of a contract, once the formal bidding process has been completed.
NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY BRANDING INITIATIVE
Discussion was held regarding an investment in the Northern Palm Beach County Branding
Initiative. Mr. Huff reviewed the purpose of the branding initiative and the levels of investment.
Discussion ensued regarding what role the Village would have in the branding process and how
much input we would have regarding marketing strategies and materials.
The Council was in favor of supporting the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce
with a contribution towards the branding initiative; however, further information was requested
before determining the level of investment.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
