ROLL CALL
Mayor Aubrey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present, except Village Manager Ed Green. Attorney Lara Donlon
from The Law Office of Glen Torcivia & Associates, P.A., was present. Human Resources
Director Loren Slaydon was present.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the executive search process for the position of
Village Manager.
VILLAGE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Ms. Donlon reviewed the draft job description. During discussion, it was suggested that the job
description should include some reference to the Country Club. Mr. Rubin will add language
regarding "overseeing Country Club operations" under the "Essential Functions" heading.
A motion was made by Councilman Bush, seconded by Vice Mayor Gebbia, and passed unanimously,
to approve the job description with the addition of Country Club operations.
CURRENT APPROVED SALARY RANGE
Discussion took place regarding the current approved salary range listed in the FY 2014 Budget.
Consensus of Council was to advertise the salary as negotiable.
POSITION POSTING
Ms. Donlon and Mrs. Slaydon reviewed the proposed advertising timeline and the print /online
sites to be used for the job posting. It was determined the deadline for submittal of resumes
would be May 9, 2014.
Discussion took place concerning recruiting candidates, as well as reaching out to the top
candidates from the 2012 Village Manager job search. Mrs. Slaydon will contact any potential
applicants identified by council members, and will contact the top - ranked candidates from 2012.

CMs. Donlon stated all resumes /applications would be received by the Human Resources Department.
Discussion ensued on pre - screening of applications. Mr. Rubin noted that pre - screening is limited,
only applicants who do not possess the required bachelor's degree would be excluded. It was
agreed that HR would compile the resumes /applications received each week and provide them to
Council on Fridays, on a weekly basis.
Ms. Donlon recommended scheduling a public meeting after May 9, 2014, at which time each
council member would provide the names of his top five selections for the position. At that time,
Council would develop a list of three to five top - ranked candidates to interview.
BACKGROUND SCREENING
Discussion ensued on background checks of potential candidates. Consensus was to have HR
conduct background checks of the top - ranked candidates prior to the interview process.
INTERVIEWS
During discussion, consensus was to use the same process as in 2012, including a Friday night
reception at the Country Club, followed by round robin interviews of each candidate individually
with each council member on Saturday morning, with a public interview meeting scheduled for
Saturday afternoon. By consensus, Council agreed that a Q &A meeting between the candidates
and the department heads should be held.
SELECTION MEETING
Following the interview process, Council will select its top - ranked candidate at a public meeting, at
a date and time to be determined.
CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS
Mr. Rubin and Mayor Aubrey will be responsible for contract negotiations.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
