VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

ROLL CALL
Mayor Eissey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present, except the Village Attorney.
COUNTRY CLUB POOL TIKI HUT REPLACEMENT
Discussion was held concerning replacement of the tiki but by the pool at the North Palm Beach
Country Club. Village Manager Mark Bates recommended that Council accept the proposal of
Florida Tiki Huts for four tiki huts and four umbrella huts in the amount of $22,400. Discussion
ensued on going out to bid for the tiki huts, as well as whether they meet the building code
standards for wind load. Discussion took place concerning FEMA reimbursement. Mr. Bates
advised that FEMA funds may be used to replace the former tiki but with one or more tiki huts.
Mr. Bates reported that if the expenditure is not covered by FEMA, it will be submitted as a
claim through the Southeast Risk Management Association (SERMA) insurance pool. This item
was forwarded to the Regular Session immediately following this meeting.
MEDICAL CLAIMS AUDIT
Discussion took place regarding proposals received for audit of the Village's medical claims
payments. Mr. Bates reported that four proposals were received and recommended that Council
accept the proposal submitted by Siver Insurance Consultants. Discussion was held concerning
the number of claims to be audited. Discussion ensued on negotiating a contract with Siver that
will stipulate a start date and completion date, as well as a set fee (or no fee) for travel costs.
This item was forwarded to the Regular Session immediately following this meeting.
STORM DRAIN PIPE REPAIR
Discussion was held concerning contracting with D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation for repair
and improvement of storm water lines at Anchorage Drive and Privateer Road in an amount not to
exceed $40,000. Discussion took place regarding the method that will be used to correct the
problem. This item was forwarded to the Regular Session immediately following this meeting.

SPECIAL COUNCIL WORKSHOP SESSIONS
Discussion was held regarding holding Special Council Workshop Sessions prior to Regular
Meetings, as needed, to discuss time-sensitive items. Council consensus was that time-sensitive
or emergency items be placed on the Regular Session agenda for action.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
