• A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING VILLAGE
ADMINISTRATION TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO APPLY FOR A
STATE OF FLORIDA LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY GRANT
FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE ACQUISITION AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW LIBRARY AUTOMATION SYSTEM;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE GRANT; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Village Administration wishes to apply for a State of Florida Library Services and
Technology Act ("LSTA") Grant in the amount of $36,000 to fund the acquisition and
implementation ofthe new Village Library automation system; and
WHEREAS, the grant will require a match of $12,000, to be funded from the Village Library
operating budget; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests ofthe Village and its residents.
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council authorizes Village Administration to apply for a State of
Florida Library Services and Technology Act Grant in the amount of $36,000 to fund the new
Village Library automation system and approves the pledge of $12,000 in matching funds.
Section 3. The Village Council further authorizes the Mayor and Clerk to take all steps
necessary to effectuate and accept the LSTA Grant funds, including the execution of all
required agreements.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14th DAY OF FEBRU 2008.
