0 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND
DISTRIBUTION OF HOLIDAY GIFT PACKAGES TO VILLAGE
EMPLOYEES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, due to statutory restrictions, the Village did not include the annual holiday gift
cards in the budget for the current fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the holiday gift cards were an annual tradition and much anticipated and
appreciated by Village employees; and
WHEREAS, in order to maintain employee morale and express gratitude to Village employees,
Village Administration is recommending the purchase and distribution of holiday gift baskets,
consisting of food items and gifts bearing the Village logo,to Village employees at a total cost of
$15,031.00; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the purchase and distribution of holiday gift
baskets serves a valid public purpose and is in the best interests of the residents and citizens of
the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and are incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council approves the purchase and distribution of holiday gift
packages to Village employees at a total cost not to exceed $15,031.00. The Village Council
further authorizes a waiver to Village Purchasing Policies and Procedures requiring three (3)
written quotes for purchases of individual items that cost between$1,000 and $10,000.00.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 28th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 201'.
