Each month, our wonderful volunteers hold a packing day to box up your donations for shipment to our soldiers. In addition to boxes of bulk items sent to the unit, each soldier receives an individual care package. To date, your generosity has allowed us to send six shipments to our adopted unit – our February shipment also included 23 boxes of stuffed animals from the children of North Palm Beach for the children of Iraq. Would you like to help? As part of our ongoing efforts, we’re selling Wolfhounds and Hooligans tee shirts to help raise money to defray the cost of shipping and to purchase items for our troops. We also want to send a tee shirt to each of the 300 soldiers in our adopted unit as a reminder that North Palm Beach cares for them. Your $10 donation will purchase a tee shirt to wear or to send to a soldier, or a large goodie bag; a $5 donation will purchase a small goodie bag. Monetary donations should be made payable to NPB Support our Troops and mailed to the Village Clerk’s office at 501 U.S. Hwy 1, NPB FL 33408. Donated items are accepted at all Village www.village-npb.org municipal buildings. A wish list of items is on our website . We especially like small or travel-size packages of hand sanitizer, sunscreen, hand lotion, powdered drink mixes, gold bond foot powder, wipes, chapstick, eye drops, and snack packages of crackers, cookies, or trail mix. Our soldiers are very appreciative – a Sergeant wrote to say “thank you for the boxes of goodies that were sent to my unit for the soldiers. Thank you so much for your support, it truly means more than you’ll ever know. Too often our victims are targeted because they make it easy for thieves. Leaving valuables in vehicles, keys in ignitions, garage doors open, and items lying around are never a good idea and can easily turn a good day into a bad one. It is easy to think about Crime Prevention when crime happens all around you. Fortunately, we don’t have this problem, but we still need to take the time to be careful.
