ROLL CALL
Mayor Vastola called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. All members of Council were
present. All members of staff were present.
BILL 776 -GENERAL EMPLOYEES' PENSION AMENDMENT -RETIREMENT DATES
Discussion was held concerning Bill 776, a proposed ordinance amending Subsections
(a) and (d) of Section 2-148 relating to Article V, Pensions and Retirement Systems for
General Employees, of Chapter 2 of the Code relating to the normal retirement date and
early retirement of General Employees. During discussion of Section 1. (a) Retirement
Date, sentence 4 was changed to read "the completion of nine (9) full years of service".
This item was forwarded to the Regular Session agenda of March 9, 1995.
BILL 777 - GENERAL EMPLOYEES' PENSION AMENDMENT - ROLLOVER
DISTRIBUTIONS
Discussion was held concerning Bill 777, a proposed ordinance amending Division 3,
Pension and Certain Other Benefits for General Employees, of Chapter 2 of the Code by
adding a Section 2-157 providing for direct transfers of eligible rollover distributions. This
item will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of March 9, 1995.
BID AWARD -PACKER BODY
Discussion took place concerning award of bid to Municipal Sales and Leasing, Inc.,
Tampa, Florida, for one refuse packer body in the amount of $23,710.00 from A7020-
66410 (Sanitation-Automotive). Bid award will be made at the Regular Session agenda
of March 9, 1995.

Held Thursday, February 23, 1995
BID AWARD -STREET RESURFACING
Discussion was held concerning award of bid to Florida Highway Products, Lakeland,
Florida, in the amount of $1.30 per square yard (maximum $60,000) from A7321-34681
(R & M-Street Resurfacing) to resurface certain Village streets in Golf Course Addition
and Plat 6, as detailed in the RCA dated 2/23/95. The Council also discussed
transferring an additional $8,500 to cover resurfacing for the remainder of Yacht Club
Drive and Fairhaven Drive. Both the bid award and budget transfer will be placed on the
Regular Session agenda of March 9, 1995.
"COPS FAST" GRANT APPLICATION
The Council discussed a federal grant awarded to the Village of North Palm Beach which
pays 75% of salary and benefits for one police officer designated for Community Oriented
Policing Services for athree-year period, after which the Village must agree to keep and
fund the position entirely. The Council directed the Public Safety Director to obtain
additional information on this grant prior to the next Regular Session. This was forwarded
to the Regular Session agenda of March 9, 1995.

There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at
8:45 p.m.
