' The regular meeting of the Village Council of "The Village of North
Palm Beach, Florida's was held in the North Palm Beach Country Clubhouse,
in such Village at 3 osclock P.M. on the 26th day of November, 1956.

ROLL The following Councilmen were present and answered the Roll Call:

ABSENTEES Mayor Cunningham reported that Councilman John A. Mac Arthur is out of
. state at the present time, and Vice Mayor Richard E. Ross reported Councilman
John A. Schwencke was not feeling well and would not attend.

QUGRUM It appeared a quorum was present, whereupon, by acclamation Mayor

Cunningham assumed the Chairmanship of the meeting and he asked ROBERT C.
TUFF~i.D, VILLAGE CLERK, to take the minutes of the meeting.

MINUTES- Mayor Cunningham instructed the Uill.age Clerk to read the minutes of the
previous meeting, which was done, ar_d upon Roll Call, all Councilmen present _ ___=
' voted a;/e, and the minutes were adopted.

NEW Mayor Cunningham reported about a favorable piece of communication he had -
BUSINESS
received complimenting the Village of the new Municipal Building with respect -
to its style and structure. Also, it was reported that good progress was Being
made on the new Municipal Building, which will be ready possibly by the first
of the year. ---
Village Clerk Tu£ford read a letter from Brockway, Weber & Brockway, Inc. -
outlining that firms proposal for furnishing engineering services to the Village
•
on a retainer fee of X100.00 per month, with any specific engineering work or pro-
jects to be performed at their regulardiem rates. It was unanimously agreed
after some discussion that this proposal be Gabled for the time being.
RES. #8 Vice Mayor Richard E. Ross, seconded by Councilman Jay H. White, moved the adoption
of Resolution ~#8 (See Res. Bk. #l, page ~ ) entitled: _

Upon Roll Call, All Councilmen present voted aye, and Resolution #8 was adopted. -

' Vice-Mayor Richard E. Ross, seconded by Councilman Jay H. White, moved the adoption
of Resolution #9, {See Res. Bk. #1 page q } entitled:
A RESOLIITION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE
TO BORROW THE SUM OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND (25,000.00)
Upon Roll Call, all Councilmen present voted aye, and Resolution #9 was adopted.
Vice-P4ayor Richard E. Ross, seconded by Councilman Jay H. White, all members voting
aye, moved that Ordinance #6 (See Ord. Bk #l, page "~.O ) entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COT3NCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BUILDING
• CODE, A PLUMBING CODE, AND AN ELECTRICAL CODE; PRO-
VIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES;
be placed on second reading and read by title only.
Vice-Mayor Richard E. Ross, seconded by Councilman Jay H, White, moved that Ordinance
#6 be enacted. Upon Roll, all Council voting aye, Ordinance #6 was enacted.
Vice-Mayor Richard E. Ross assumed the chair and lead the discussion with a group
of property owners interested in becoming annexed to "The Village of North Palm Beach, Florida",
for the purpose of getting water to their property by means of a pipeline across Lake Worth.
After considerable discussion, Vice-Mayor Ross appointed a committee made up of Mayor C, A,
Cunningham, and Mr. Burgess and Mr, Smith of the delegation to explore this matter more
thoroughly with the property owners in the area interested.
The Village Clerk read expense vouchers totaling $959.3~t, and asked the Council's
pleasure in disbursing these obligations. Upon motion by Councilman White, seconded by Vice-
Mayor Rosa, all Councilmen present voted aye, and the motion carried to have the Village Clerk
. pay these obligations.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3 O'clock PM Monday,
December 10th., 1956, to meet at the North Palm Beach Country Clubhouse.
