MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP SESSION
OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2000

ROLL CALL
Mayor Tringali called the meeting to order at 9:50 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present.
ARCHITECT'S FEE ADJUSTMENT -VILLAGE HALL RENOVATION
Discussion was held with Architect Anderson Slocombe of Gee & Jenson regarding a fee
adjustment in the amount of $7,500 for changes to the Village Hall renovation project. With
disagreement between the Village Council and the Architect on the interpretation of items 3 and
4 of the contract, the staff was directed to work with Mr. Slocombe in working out a compromise
on the additional charge
VILLAGE HALL RENOVATION
Continued discussion took place concerning the preliminary design drawings for the Village Hall
renovation. Department Heads will meet with architect Anderson Slocombe to review the
drawings, and they will then return to Workshop Session.
CHANGE ORDER #9 -COUNTRY CLUB
Discussion was held concerning change order #9 for the Country Club renovation project in the
amount of $21,782 for time extensions and additional compensation for owner delays. Based on
Village Attorney George Baldwin's review of the contract documentation, it was the consensus
of Council to forward this item to the Regular Session agenda of May 11, 2000 for action to
accept a credit change order for liquidated damages in the amount of $7,000, as recommended by
the architect.
CANAL DREDGING FEE AGREEMENT
Discussion was held concerning a fee agreement in the amount of $29,660 for preparation of
"~.,.. contract documents and contract administration by the Village Engineer for the canal dredging

project; funds to be expended from A5206-66210 (Community Planning-Const. & Major
Renovation). This will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of May 11, 2000.
DRAINAGE ON 16TH FAIRWAY
Discussion took place concerning a recommendation of the Village Engineer regarding drainage
on the 16th Fairway at the North Palm Beach Country Club. This will be brought back to the
next workshop of May 1 1, 2000 with specific plans.
AD HOC COMMITTEE -NORTH PALM BEACH MARINA
Discussion was held concerning appointing an Ad Hoc committee to do a feasibility study for the
purchase and operation of the North Palm Beach Marina by the Village of North Palm Beach.
The Council agreed by consensus to forward a resolution to the next Regular Session agenda of
May 11, 2000 appointing President Pro Tem Norris, Village Attorney George Baldwin and
Village Manager Dennis Kelly to the Ad Hoc Committee.

Code amendment -Private Docks
Local Law Enforcement Block Grant
Budget Amendment -Raises and Salary Adjustments
Budget amendment -Golf Course Restrooms/rain shelters
