SOUTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALKS AND STREETLIGHTS PROJECT
The purpose of the meeting was to provide information to the public and answer questions
concerning the proposed installation of sidewalks and streetlights on Conroy Drive, Lorraine
Court and Honey Road in the Village's Southwest Neighborhood.
Mayor Aubrey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Osborne Park Activities Building.
All members of Council were present. All members of staffwere present, except the Village Attorney.
The following department directors were present: Chuck Huff, Community Development Director,
Michael Applegate, Information Technology Director, Robert O'Neill, Public Safety Director,
Wiley Livingston, Public Works Director, and Mark Hodgkins, Recreation Director. Also present
for the Village were Engineer Keith Jackson, Engenuity Group, Inc., Architect Tim Hullihan,
Nick Mihelich, Urban Design Kilday Studios, and Jose Maldonado, FPL.
Mayor Aubrey welcomed the public and explained the purpose of the meeting. Village Manager
Knight gave a presentation on the proposed project. Public Safety Director O'Neil reviewed
issues and concerns pertaining to safety. Community Development Director Huff discussed the
project. A question and answer session followed. Questions and concerns were expressed
regarding the following issues:
• relocation of existing landscaping
• relocation of existing irrigation
• replanting of trees in the Swale
• cars parked over the sidewalk
• composition of driveways and driveway aprons
• property owner's ability to contract with sidewalk installer for additional work
• increased taxes due to increased property values
• relocation of water meters
• future installation of sewer system
Upon completion of the question and answer session, the public was invited to review the
conceptual project drawings and aerial photographs on display. Village Council Members,
Village Administration, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Hullihan, Mr. Mihelich, and Mr. Maldonado were
available for one-on-one discussions of the project with the public.
Thereafter, the meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
