2003-016 Supports Re-Authorization of Transportation Equity ActRESOLUTION 16-2003
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION BY THE UNITED
STATES CONGRESS RE-AUTHORIZING THE TRANSPORTATION EQUITY ACT FOR
THE 21sT CENTURY (TEA-21) AND THE CONSENSUS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE
NEXT ACT BY MANY FLORIDA ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the United States Congress will soon be considering new federal legislation re-authorizing
the Transportation Equity Act for the 21St Century which expires September 30, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach supports the consensus
recommendations for the next Transportation Equity Act for the 21St Century (TEA-21) by many
Florida organizations, including the Florida Department of Transportation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby
support passage of legislation by the United States Congress re-authorizing the Transportation
Equity Act for the 21St Century (TEA-21) and the consensus recommendations for the next act by
many Florida organizations, including the Florida Department of Transportation.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
