AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, T}{E
ELECTION CODE OF THE VILLAGE, BY REPEALING THOSE SECTIONS RELATING
1'0 ABSENTEE VOTING AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR THE LAWS OF FLORIDA
RELATING TO ABSENTEE VOTING
' W}{F.REAS, by Resolution No. 308-67 the Village Council
adopted the permanent registration system of Palm Beach County,
Florida for the registration of electors to qualify them to vote
in all elections; and
W}{EREAS, the Village Council has determined that it is
in the best interests of the Village to adopt the general laws of
the State of Florida relating to absentee voting in order to
insure uniformity in the absentee voting laws in effect in the
Village and the County of Palm Beach; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists necessitating the passage
of this Ordinance upon two readings at one meeting in order to
amend the Code prior to the general election to be held in the
Village on March 20, 1979;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE. COUNCIL OF
NORT1{ PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Sections 10-38 through 10-46, both
inclusive, of the Village of North Palm Beach Code are hereby
repealed.
Section 2. That the provisions of the general laws of
the State of Florida relating to absentee voting are hereby adopted
as a part of the F,lection Code of the Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
