ROLL CALL
Mayor Norris called the Public Hearing to order at 7:15 p.m. All members of Council were
present except Councilman Eissey, who was out of town. All members of staff were present.
PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the public concerning Bill 1111, a
proposed ordinance adopting amendment No. 02.1.1 to the adopted Comprehensive Plan for the
Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, in accordance with the Local Government Comprehensive
Planning and Land Development Regulation Act, as amended, being sections 163.3161, et seq.,
Florida Statutes, which amendment is attached as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference;
amending figure 3-18 (Future Annexation Areas) of the Future Land Use Map Series; providing for
severability; providing for the repeal of all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith;
and, providing for an effective date.
Mayor Norris announced that any person wishing to receive notification as to the date of publication
of Notice of Intent by the Department of Community Affairs must fill out their name and address on
the form available at the Village Clerk's table.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Charles Wu, Growth Management Administrator for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, addressed the
Council as representative for the City of Palm Beach Gardens regarding the city's objection to the
Village's intent to adopt Amendment No. 02.1.1. Mr. Wu stated that Palm Beach Gardens will not
pursue Lost Tree Village area for annexation, but does want to retain Hidden Key residential
subdivision because its sole access is through the City's jurisdiction. Additionally, Palm Beach
Gardens will also forego annexation plans for Pirates Cove. Both Palm Beach Gardens and North
Palm Beach have engaged in dialogue to resolve these conflicts, and wishes to continue that
• dialogue. Palm Beach Gardens will forward its objection to the Florida Department of Community
Affairs.
